Ólafur Sigurðsson (1955), the Executive Manager (since 2004). M.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Previous occupation: Head of Administration in the European Free Trade Association in Brussels and Geneva. Management Consultant, KPMG Consulting, Iceland. Managing Director in a Fish Export Company.
Olafur is responsible for the daily operation, i.e. staff matters, supervision of finances, budget and supervision of buildings, strategy, marketing, business development and negotiation with the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Jan Triebel is the Medical Director of the NLFÍ Rehabilitation and Health Clinic since 2005. He originally from Germany, born 1969. He is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, got his PhD in 2003 and has two subspecialities: Interventional Pain Treatment and Manual Medicine. After his military service in the German Navy, he studied Medicine in Munich, Germany, worked as a young doctor at the University Hospital of Iceland(1955-1998) and worked in Switzerland for 7 years (1998-2005) at the SUVA Rehaklinik Bellikon at the Municipal Hospital of Zurich, before he returned to Iceland. He has a broad and extensive experience in clinical studies, teaching as well as in leadership. The Medical Director organizes and is responsible for all medical treatment at the Clinic.
Magna Fríður Birnir is the Director of Nursing at NLFI Rehabilitation and Health Clinic from2008. She earned a MSc degree in administration at the University of Michigan in1992. Magna graduated with a degree in nursing from the Icelandic School of Nursing 1976 and has extensive work experience in Iceland, Sweden and USA. She was director of the Department of total quality control and internal auditing management (TQM) at the University hospital in Iceland (LSH). Other managerial experiences are from the logistic company Eimskip and the IT company Skyrr where she seated the TQM and Human Resource positions for a number of years. The director of nursing organizes and is responsible for the rehabilitation nursing practice at HNLFI.
